Nursing home 2.0 automated with Loxone
Installing a future-proof system for home and building automation that combines all trades equipment in the building, is easy to operate, relieves staff of tasks and increases the comfort of residents. That was the challenge that Loxone was able to solve in this care home.
Loxone has been in the plans from the very early stages of the new Erich Schumm Foundation Care Home and now we are proud to present the complete install. This project was completed by our Loxone Flagship Platinum Partner Clever2Smart.Â
Care home, day care, doctor’s surgery, chiropody and other areas of application come together under one roof. The Loxone home and building automation system installed here takes care of all tasks independently: temperature control in the residents’ and communal rooms, intelligent and presence-controlled lighting, air conditioning, automatic shading and monitoring of the buildings technical systems.
We were looking for a unique selling point to set us apart from other retirement homes. Cost savings were also an important issue, which we fully cover with Loxone’s intelligent energy management system. However, the focus is on the satisfaction and safety of the residents and staff. With Loxone, we can guarantee absolute security for the residents.
Home Manager Alexandra Zieffle emphasises two intelligent functions in particular, which make her and her team’s day-to-day work much easier.
Night function
If a resident leaves their bed in the night, this is detected by a Presence Sensor. If the resident does not return to bed within 15 minutes, the night carers receive a notification via the Loxone App and they can go check on resident – meaning they can check on residents in a targeted manner.
Colour featuresÂ
Colour plays a major role in dementia care. Loxone makes it very easy to create different lighting scenes to support the care of dementia patients. For example, a relaxed blue is used for calming, whereas a strong yellow is used for activation. Five different lighting scenes are created in each room for this.
Each floor of the building has been equipped with its own Miniserver and is also displayed individually in the Loxone App. User groups play a major role here: the care staff only see the functions and areas that are important to them, while the building services, care home management and management team get a deeper insight and broader overview.
We also want to offer future residents good prospects and, above all, convenience through modern technology. We also want to make life easier for our staff with innovations from Loxone that are still easy to use. We also want to present ourselves as an attractive employer for future staff.
