Retrofit in Hotel Albrecht
Hotel Albrecht is situated in a picturesque part of Bratislava, Slovakia. This historic hotel, has recently undergone significant modernisation. The main aim of this modernisation through Loxone building automation retrofit, was to incorporate smart technology into the hotel’s existing infrastructure, while preserving its original charm and atmosphere.
Lighting control
One of the main elements of the hotel’s Loxone retrofit was intelligent lighting control. The Loxone system allows automated control of lights based on different scenarios and guest needs. The lights can adapt to the time of day, the presence of people or specific requirements, achieving optimum lighting levels and energy savings. Lighting is also part of the Loxone Touch Standard and App, that allow easy operation without the need for complex staff training.
During site meetings, we decided to replace the old lighting system with a solution from Loxone, which simplified the integration of the lighting without the need for new cabling. We enabled the client to control the heating in the rooms via wireless heads and added three Intercoms with NFC access to manage staff arrivals and departures. Everything, including lighting and temperature, is now controlled via the Loxone App, which has made the staff’s jobs easier without the need for special training.
Intelligent heating control
Another important aspect implemented for the hotel was the control of heating in individual rooms. The existing radiator heads were replaced with Valve Actuator Airs that allow the temperature in each room to be measured and controlled individually. The reception now has the ability to adjust the temperature according to the clients’ wishes via the App, which simplifies operation and increases the efficiency of energy management.
Access system
Guest safety and comfort are a priority, so the hotel has implemented an access system using the Loxone Intercom and NFC Code Touch. This system allows guests to open the door simply by tapping an NFC card or entering a code. This ensures that each guest has individual access, increasing security and simplifying the check-in and check-out process.
The implementation of Loxone’s solutions has brought many benefits to Hotel Albrecht. Loxone has ensured greater comfort for guests, optimised the hotel’s operations and contributed to its sustainability. In addition, the energy efficiency and security of the building have been significantly improved thanks to the retrofit of Loxone automation.
