Recent years have shown all of us what is important in life, completely changing many of our outlooks on the world and our plans for the future. The opportunity to work from a home office has inspired some to work whilst travelling (if your company allows it), with all that is needed being a Wi-Fi connection and your Laptop. Some people have been seeking an adventure from being cooped up inside and have tried to make the most of their work life balance. One option to this group, is the smart campervan, providing a taste of adventure with the convenience of home.

In the campervan you will find many solutions that are also synonymous with standard housing projects, but also others that are more customised to this application on four wheels – further illustrating how versatile the Loxone system is. The following switches are responsible for the control in the van: Touch Pure – quite like in a house, they are responsible for controlling the lighting, as well as switching off all of the subsystems. The tent on the roof also has a Touch Surface, which allows the entire camper to be put into night mode as the occupants go to bed.
The Touch Pure is also responsible for making sure that the van maintains the desired climate, thanks to the switches built-in temperature and humidity sensors. The campervans installed heating system is fully automated by Loxone, so that the owners do not have to worry at all about the inside temperature. This makes it possible to stay in the camper all year-round, meaning users are not restricted by weather conditions.
The lighting is also responsible for the pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to the dimmable automated RGBW spots, that have been installed – with users also being able to freely adjust the colour and intensity of the light as they wish. If they need more light, e.g. when cooking, it is just a matter of a few clicks away. When relaxing in the campervan in the evening, the lighting softens to a gentle colour and provides a nice glow, providing an ideal ambient mood.
The camper can be completely self-sufficient, thanks in large to the photovoltaic panel installation on the roof. With the occupant being able to easily view the status of the batteries charge in the Loxone App. Meaning you should never be caught off guard by a flat battery. What’s more, the campervan has the possibility for a gas connection to its great kitchen, as well as having an outdoor shower and also the inside toilet having a shower too. The van is truly fully equipped for an adventure.
A unique feature of this install, is that the actuator controls are nothing like that of the actuators used when automating roller blinds or shutters. A further great feature comes from the Loxone bus wiring system, allowing for only a few cross-sections in the cables, meaning that the overall wiring footprint has been minimised, so that the design has been kept simple.
The heart of any Loxone intall – the Miniserver – resides at the rear of the van, just behind the back doors, which allows for easy access but without taking up any space in the living area.
The installation in this campervan has been deceptively similar to that of a classic domestic installation – which has meant that there is a wide range of possibilities for extending the Loxone system and adding more functions into the campervan as and when the owners should want to.
