Simple access control
With an NFC Code Touch next to both the front door and garage, Sabrina & Andy have quick and easy access into their home.

“I think it’s especially convenient because I never have to take a key with me. I can easily open the front door with my personal code and fingerprints remain invisible through the special glass surface.” explains Sabrina.

In Part 1 & Part 2 of this series we followed Andy & Sabrina’s journey as they went through the various stages of construction and we learned what needs to be considered when planning and building your very own smart home. Now, in this instalment, it’s time to simply enjoy the end result – a prime example of a Real Smart Home.

Simple access control
With a NFC Code Touch next to both the front door and garage, Sabrina & Andy have quick and easy access into their home.

“I think it’s especially convenient because I never have to take a key with me. I can easily open the front door with my personal code and fingerprints remain invisible through the special glass surface.” – explains Sabrina.

Atmospheric lighting
The lighting in our homes can have a significant impact on our well-being. That’s one of the reasons why Andy & Sabrina have a wide variety of lighting scenes throughout their house – to always create the right atmosphere. The elegant LED Pendulum Slims in the dining area are a real eye-catcher, they provide pleasant, soft light and do not dazzle.

Andreas’ favourite feature: Touch Surface in the sauna
After a long day at work, Andreas enjoys nothing more than kicking back and relaxing in his very own sauna. This is made even more enjoyable by the Touch Surface integrated within the sauna – meaning that lighting scenes and music can be easily changed without him having to get out or risk damaging his phone by taking it in with him.

Sabrina’s favourite place
One of Sabrina’s absolute favourite places in her new home is the cosy sitting area next to the window – which also looks stunning and often impresses their guests. The area has built-in spotlights and carefully thought out decorations to help set the perfect scene for Sabrina to unwind and read her favourite book.

Automatic water cut-off
On just their second night in their new home, the newlyweds got quite an unpleasant surprise – a water leak in their technical room. A nightmare for any homeowner. Fortunately, Andreas was woken by the unusual noises and was able to react before any major damage was done. After this incident, water sensors were placed everywhere in this room which will now immediately sound the alarm in the event of an emergency. In addition to this, Andy also set up an automatic water cut-off throughout the entire house. Now when the House Off function is activated, the water in the entire building is automatically switched off – so the two of them can leave the house without any worries.
The only exception to this rule is if the washing machine, dishwasher or similar devices are already in a cycle. In this case, the water will automatically be stopped once they have finished.

Touch Surface
The Touch Surface sits, almost invisibly, in the kitchen worktop. The two of them now have a stylish control point within arm’s length whilst cooking that can be used even with wet or dirty hands.

Home Cinema
Cosy film nights for the couple now consist of far more than a cosy sofa and a few snacks. With just one click on their Remote Air, the living room is transformed into a home cinema. The TV turns on, any music playing stops, the blinds are lowered and a dim lighting mood is activated.

Automated blinds
Whether they are being used as a bit of privacy in the evenings or to save energy throughout the day – Sabrina says she can’t imagine life without her intelligent blinds now.

“I used to have to go from room to room to close the blinds in the evening, now everything is automatic.”
