Update: Music Server & Spotify

Spotify

We have fixed the Spotify API issue, which was disabled by Spotify in May 2022. In order to migrate to the newer API, we need to delete your existing Spotify credentials and favourites, which will force a re-login using the Spotify authentication mechanism. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is the only way to get Spotify back on track with its Music Server changes.

TuneIn

The file has been updated to fix an issue addressed in August 2022 with TuneIn – specifically related to Global Radio stations such as LBC, Radio X, and Classic FM.

This is how you proceed:

Download the following file and open File Explorer on your computer.
In the address bar navigate to \\musicserveripaddress and copy the downloaded .upd file to the Updates folder.

To download the file, right-click on the button below and select “Save as”.

Additional Information:

The reason for the malfunction is a change made by Spotify to their legacy API. Since the current Spotify integration in the Loxone Music Server can no longer establish a connection to Spotify, it performs a security restart, which can end in a reboot loop. All other integrations such as Tune In work without problems.

This blog is specifically related to the fix implemented for the 2022 changes that Spotify made to their API. For the latest version of the Music Server Update and all other firmware, always visit the Downloads page.
