Challenge
To integrate a full smart home system into a barn conversion project. Concentrating on solutions for the installation into an existing period property whilst being sympathetic to the aesthetics, we were tasked with bringing the once derelict barn bang up to date with full control for lighting, shading, heating, velux operation, multimedia and access.Solution
We were able to meet all the requirements of our client, by installing a full smart home system. We were involved from the planning process of this barn conversion, which enabled us to site our cabling and areas for fixings for the lighting, speakers and multimedia. The barn now boasts feature lighting to accentuate its already magnificent features, such as the imposing beams and the bespoke curved front 1st floor window. The upside down nature of this project with the kitchen and living space located on the 1st floor and the bedrooms and entertaining space below on the ground floor make it particularly interesting. Full velux control enables the occupants to operate the roof lights, with the weather station constantly monitors the changing forecast. NFC Code Touches have been installed both on the entrance gate and the front door for access control and the heating and hot water is fully controlled by the Loxone system.Loxone's ease of operation along with its extensive integration and fully customisable nature make it our first choice for smart home installations every time.
