Loxone Partner
Challenge
The client had already installed what he thought was a smart home with the installation of a few different household brands of smart home products like the Ring doorbell and a Denon amp to control 5.1 surround sound. The client had been using another Amp to play speakers in his kitchen but wanted to be able to play music through more speakers throughout his home without having to take up valuable space adding more amps.As part of the clients original 'smart home' he already had ceiling speakers in place in the kitchen diner and he already had a HDMI Matrix installed (HDAnywhere).
The client also had banks of light switches he described as 'wall acne' which he wanted to get rid of.

Our customer was looking to make use of the additional space we left in his Loxone panel to add some wow factor to their en-suite bathroom.
Solution
The solution was to retrofit Loxone Nano Dimmer Air's and the Nano IO Air relays for lighting control. Plus, install the Audioserver for music distribution throughout the whole house. A Touch Pure Tree was installed to replace the banks of light switches. As well as a Loxone Touch Surface into the quartz kitchen island counter top, providing easily accessible, full control over lighting moods and music. Loxone Presence Sensors were also installed, which turn off the lights when the client leaves the room. It was also great that Loxone could integrate well with HDAnywhere and the Denon Amp the client already had so he can now use one App to control all of his homes multimedia.(SYSTEM EXPANSION)
Having previously retrofitted Loxone for audio, lighting and shading in our customers kitchen, we were able to simply add extensions to the existing panel we had already installed to get even more functionality out of the system.
We installed 2x RGBW Dimmer Tree extensions to control IP67 RGBW LED tape contained in shadow gap profile on the edges of the ceiling. We also installed the same LED tape into tile in profile for bathroom and shower niche’s.
In the Loft space we installed an inline fan connected to one of the outputs on a Nano 2 Relay Tree.
As standard, a Presence Sensor was installed in the room so the lights and fan are turned off automatically when the room is not in use.
Finally we installed a Quadral 7” speaker in the ceiling and bathroom TV flush with the tiles on the wall.
A Touch Tree allows the customer to cycle through the lighting scenes and control music. It will also be used to control shading when the customer decides on the design of the window treatment.
When presence is activated in the night the system is programmed to only bring the LED tape on dim enough to light the way to the toilet but not enough to wake up the customer fully. The customer also uses motion activation in the morning to bring music on whilst showering. Music is then turned off along with the fan and lights when the room is vacated.
The Quadral speaker is able to play the same or different music from the rest of the house or play the bathroom TV audio.
A spare output on the HDAnywhere matrix was also utilised so the customer doesn’t have to miss any Sky TV even when in the bath.
Loxone fitted the brief perfectly. The client was super happy that now instead of having to buy more expensive amps, which take up room he didn’t have, he can now just add another stereo extension when he wants another two audio zones.
