The large-scale Decathlon shop underwent a comprehensive technological renovation, introducing a state-of-the-art Loxone building automation system to its thresholds. The project was designed not only to modernise the existing infrastructure, but also to improve energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability levels. Today we take a look at the key elements of this project.

Centralized Management of Technologies

One of the main objectives was to develop an integrated building management system (BMS) that would allow all technologies to be controlled from a single location. Previously, the individual systems operated independently, which made control and optimization challenging. With Loxone, these systems have been consolidated, enabling central management of lighting, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as monitoring of energy consumption.

Moreover, with Loxone, shop staff can now monitor the status of all systems in real time. The application allows any faults to be quickly identified and addressed immediately, thereby minimizing the risk of downtime and breakdowns.

14% Reduction in Energy Consumption

One of the key objectives of the project was to reduce energy consumption. Thanks to the integrated BMS and Loxone’s advanced technologies, it was possible to achieve a savings of as much as 14%. In previous years, manual optimization of settings had been carried out, allowing systems to be adapted to the actual needs of the shop, while reducing energy waste, but automation could have brought much more to the project.

Sustainable Development

The renovation of the Decathlon store also reflects a commitment to sustainable development. The installation of F-gas sensors and water meters makes it possible to precise monitoring of resource consumption and rapid response to potential issues. As a result, the shop can implement a more environmentally friendly resource management policy.

Great emphasis was placed on optimizing lighting, ventilation and air conditioning. Thanks to schedules and scenes, it is possible to automatically adjust the settings depending on the time of day and the number of people in the shop. This leads to energy savings and improved comfort for everyone involved.

The new system has automated many day-to-day tasks, such as turning on lights in the parking lot or adjusting the temperature. As a result, employees can focus on other tasks and the shop operates more effectively.

The renovation of the Decathlon shop using Loxone automation is a perfect example of how modern technology can enhance the sustainability and operational efficiency. With this investment, the shop has taken a huge step towards a green future.
